I've been a little obsessed lately with the beers coming out of 3 Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana. About 8 years ago, my brother and I and the rest of our motley crew decided to stop by the brewery on the way to a rafting trip in West Virgina that I set up for my brother's bachelor party. "You have to try the Gumballhead!" they said. It was all over from there, I fell in love with the brewery, the beer the atmosphere. The only problem, I lived in Texas at the time and 3 Floyds had not distributed anywhere but the Midwest, my favorite beer was nowhere to be found. 3 Floyd's beers had slipped into a distant, pleasurable memory, until a few months ago when I discovered the brand on one of my vendor's lists...it was time to relieve the magic! Now a bit of history and facts:

3 Floyds Brewing, founded in 1996 by Nick, Simon, and their father Mike Floyd in Hammond, Indiana, has become a legendary name in the craft beer world. Known for their 'It’s Not For Everyone' motto, they’ve built a reputation for bold, aggressive, and unapologetic brews. Their history is rooted in a passion for heavy metal, comic books, and, of course, exceptional beer.

Over the years, 3 Floyds has expanded from a small operation to a powerhouse, consistently ranking among the best breweries globally. Their core lineup features some of the most sought-after beers in the industry:

1. Alpha King: Their flagship American Pale Ale, bursting with citrusy hops and a solid malt backbone. It’s the beer that started it all.

2. Zombie Dust: A cult-favorite Undead Pale Ale. This single-hop (Citra) beer is incredibly aromatic and refreshing, making it a must-try for any hop-head.

3. Gumballhead: An American Wheat Ale brewed with Amarillo hops. It’s crisp, lemony, and perfect for a summer day.

4. Robert the Bruce: A rich and malty Scotch Ale with notes of caramel and roasted grain, named after the legendary Scottish king.

Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the scene, 3 Floyds Brewing continues to push the boundaries of what beer can be. Stop by Gin & Bear It Liquor to pick up some of their current offerings like Gumballhead Pale Ale, Trolls, Trolls, Trolls Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, Zombie Ice Double Pale Ale, Warmullet Double IPA and the Calumet Queen Kolsch!
